Henchperson - n. Close and trusty follower. This new word has been created by the author to replace its
sexist (q.v.) and thus outdated equivalent,
henchman, which had gradually acquired, over the years, a
pejorative (q.v.) flavor. Villains have henchmen; heroes have right-hand men - or, more properly, right-hand people.
Henchmen.
Henchgirls.
Henchperson.
